Last-Minute Gifts You Can Sort Without Leaving Home

With just a few days before Christmas, time is running out to get your gifts. But you don't have to do a frantic dash around the shops listening to Mariah Carey on repeat to get what you need.

Here are three ways to sort last-minute gifts from the cosy comfort of your own home.

Give someone an IOU

Sometimes the best present you can give a loved one is time (it sounds cheesy, but it's true). So, why not pledge to take an elderly relative to the seaside when the weather improves? Or offer to babysit for a friend with young children who needs a night off.

You can download IOU templates from the internet and fill them in yourself or make your own if you're creative.

Plan a gig or concert

Do some online research to discover what events are coming up in your area in the new year. Buy your friend or relative tickets to a concert or show you know they'll enjoy.

You can also look at the What's On section on the platform Eventbrite. You'll find an array of activities listed (many of them free or low cost), ranging from historical walks to craft sessions and beekeeping. Who knows, you and your loved one may discover a new hobby or passion.

Customised gift

You've probably taken hundreds if not thousands, of photos on your phone this year. Why not put the best ones to good use by creating a customised gift for someone special?

Many companies offer a service where you can upload a selection of your favourite snaps, and they'll reproduce them in a format of your choice (poster, calendar, album or canvas print). However, you'll have to get in quick with this option as the turnaround can take a couple of days. Make sure you opt for the fast-track service when you place your order.

From Nick and Teresa at Quarters Residential, we wish you a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year.
